Over the course of the last several years, I've gone from writing in passive, as I've done most of my life, to dedicating a vast amount of personal time creating, writing, & taking photos of the places and people that surround me.
When I was in college, I toyed with the idea of creating a public portfolio that served as not only creative inspiration for myself, but a home for both my writing & photography. As you can see, I've structured the portfolio to hold my personal writings, covered by images I've photographed.
Within my portfolio, I've written pieces over the years of my life, fiction and nonfiction, inspired by not only my own experiences, but the people in my life and things I've observed. Deeply embedded in the structure of my writing (quasi-poetry) is my love and passion for music. Most of my work closely resembles a song, broken lyrics, or melodies I hope come to life to anyone who reads them.
Though most of my writing is scratch, things I've scribbled in the growing number of journals I have collecting in my room, covered by photos taken on drugstore-bought disposable cameras - the work means a great deal to me.

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it clear and directly, to keep the channel open."
