If I could take you there, would you believe me?
Would you follow blindsided, hands grasped, just to reach the tree?
If it’s all as I remembered, all that I feel
My being crafted amongst the locusts, formed in the fields
Stifling heat, constricting your sympathy
If I begged enough, could you honor me empathy?
Was the origin to share -
Or is it clawing at you to grasp?
Is it easier to abandon this isolation?
Rather than serve your efforts to my complications
Could I front this show, a mask never removed, ending with a bow -
Do you understand me now?
